Allovus, in conjunction with Produxs a local UX firm, designed and developed a company-wide icon asset management system for Microsoft. Our partnership defined feature requirements and built an end-to-end workflow culminating in a robust and user-friendly environment. The Microsoft Icon Database allows individual teams and their vendors to collaborate while providing icon asset consistency across Windows products. Allovus continues to partner with Produxs to build custom solutions for difficult software usability issues.

In a herculean effort, our team catalogued over 7,000 icon assets in order for the Microsoft Icon Library to become operational. This involved gathering icon file and common names, concepts, keywords, file sizes, and formats, as well as all of the physical icon assets across key Microsoft teams.

Allovus partnered with the Windows Server team to design iconography and bring visual consistency between the Microsoft Forefront and System Center applications. We collaborated with the Forefront team to determine the extent of icon usage within the applications as well as located existing imagery for re-use in order to cut project costs.

Allovus worked with a local developer to redesign a free software tool empowering math students, their teachers, and parents to understand basic mathematic principles. Our team applied a new visual refresh to the site iconography along with a new interface redesign to enrich the user experience. Additionally, Allovus was honored to assist with the implementation of XtraMath in the Peninsula school district.
